HEADLINE: WINDFARMS ARE
'VANDALISM'
BODY:
My wife and I came to this area 24 years ago and
spent 15 years at least of
those renovating our property, employing huge
amounts of sweat and labour
and no small amount of money to make the home we
now have. It would now seem
this was all in vain, if these 'vandalisers' of
our area have their way, as
I would be once again in a semi-industrial
environment.
Because of the position of our house, we would for the rest
of our lives be
looking at about nine of these monstrosities, to say nothing
of listening to
them or being dazzled by them glancing sunlight through our
main window.
Our quality of life would be absolutely destroyed.
I
know I would be accused of 'nimbyism', but I find it rather strange
the
people who would call me this are almost always not affected by
them.
I, like any decent-minded citizen of our planet, realise something
must be
done to find clean renewable energy, and I fully support
this.
But I strongly deny the need to put these things near to villages
and
people, as this surely only creates a further pollution - visual
and
audible.
I have not mentioned the devastating effect I believe
this proposal would
have on our beloved wildlife.
Listen to the people
of the north east and they will tell you of their
suffering since wind
turbines arrived.
Do not believe the words of the money-driven energy
companies.
I do not think they give a jot about ecology and only consider
money.
This why they can afford to buy the farmers, and sweeten the
villagers by
offering to refurbish the village hall etc.
Beware these
faceless vandals.
A Buccieri Boskeydyke,
Keadby.
