Welcome to our site dedicated to stopping wind turbines being built on a beautiful part of our countryside.

In 2003. United Utilities Lodged an application to Oldham Council to build wind turbines on an area of Special Biological Importance, adjacent to a Site of Special Scientific Interest. A pro formaletter of objection is available.

The application was subsequently handled by E.on, and rejected by Oldham Planning Committee.

E.on challenged the refusal on the last day possible and the application is now in the hands of the Office of The Deputy Prime Minister - which, now John Prescott is no longer directly in charge, is known as "Communities and Local Government".

In addition to this, there are a further 2 1/2 miles of supporting roads and miscellaneous buildings to be strewn across the countryside.

Whilst we are clearly opposed to this - not on the grounds of "not in my back yard" - we would invite you to use this site to help you make up your own mind up about whether or not to object to this proposal.

We hope that you agree with us, but if not then we would ask that you try to understand why we are opposed.
